The Catholic Cemeteries Association takes great pride in the maintenance and constant improvement of our cemeteries. It is our honor and duty to provide a beautiful, peaceful, and reverent resting place for our loved ones. We encourage families to express their love and respect with decorations.

Decoration Guidelines

November 1st through March 15th

Winter wreaths and other artificial decorations are permitted during this time. All decorations, including wooden crosses, should not exceed 36" in height.
Decorations with spikes or stakes are prohibited and will be removed immediately.
During the winter months, live or artificial wreaths may be ordered through the cemeteries.
We cannot be responsible for damage caused to bouquet holders due to use during the cold winter months.

March 16th through October 31st

Only fresh flowers in proper bouquet holders are permitted during this time.
Wilted flowers are removed every Tuesday. This allows us to have three days to cut the grass with the least amount of obstacles. Fresh flowers are not removed unless absolutely necessary.
Artificial decorations are not permitted during the cutting season. If found, artificial decorations will be immediately removed by cemetery staff. Artificial decorations placed for a holiday will be will collected the Tuesday following the holiday.

WINTER DECORATION FAMILY PICK UP IS MARCH 15, 2023. CEMETERY STAFF CLEAN-UP BEGINS MARCH 16, 2023, INCLUDING CROSSES.

Burials: Floral pieces are left on the grave for 48 hours after a burial. The flowers are wilted by this time and it becomes a nest for animals if left any longer. There is no regulation governing the number of floral decorations brought to the cemetery at the time of interment.

Entombments:Three floral pieces permitted outside of the building. Bouquets will be removed and discarded at the end of each work day.

Please make sure to label your decoration(s) with the deceased name and location.

We hope you can understand our position in establishing these guidelines. They are not of our personal choice but an absolute necessity in maintaining safe working conditions and the overall beauty of our Catholic Cemeteries.

Visitation Guidelines

The CCA works very hard to ensure that our cemeteries are as safe and hazard-free as possible. However, there are many natural outdoor conditions and conditions inherent to a cemetery over which we have no control. When you visit a cemetery, we ask that you use proper judgement. Please educate yourself on common cemetery hazards, and the policies surrounding common hazards before visiting. We are not responsible for injuries, and you assume the risk caused by a failure to comply with these regulations.

Slippery surfaces – Our cemeteries contain polished granite markers that are flush with the ground. Granite surfaces are slippery when exposed to rain, ice, frost, snow, and grass clippings. Please watch your step and walk on established grass only.
Roadside visitation – To avoid potential injury when ground is snow covered, please limit your visits to roadside only.
Concealed hazards — Snow or grass clippings can conceal walking hazards such as: raised markers, uneven surfaces, ground depressions, and decorations. Please watch your step.
Exercise caution — Uneven ground and settling soil around gravesites can create walking hazards throughout the cemetery.
Sinking hazards — Rain can create muddy conditions around gravesites that will not support a person’s weight. Avoid puddled areas or ground depressions to prevent injury.
